Neopets: Codestone Quest is an arcade game based on the Neopets universe. Neopets is an online community where you create your own pet, buy objects for it, take it on quests and so on. So this game is based on Neopia, but there is something weird happening. Balthazar is kidnapping faeries in bottles and it is up to you to free the faeries before they are loaded into a cart. These bottles where the faeries are kept are spherical, and the way to free the faeries is shooting free faeries of the same color into the line of bottles. When three of the same color match, then they are broken free. As you might realize, the game's formula is nothing new nor innovative. However there are nice features. For some combos, you get coins that can be used to purchase petpets. These creatures can help you during the game with their special powers, like freezing bottles or destroying them with fire. There is also a magic system you develop during the game; however, it is a bit complex and takes a time to learn. The presentation of the game is excellent and this is really a nice arcade/puzzle game for all ages. |
